There's a 4-kilometer promenade along Lake Biwa, lined with over 800 Somei Yoshino cherry trees. πΈ You can enjoy the picturesque scenery of clear water and white cherry blossoms from the shore, or take a sightseeing boat to view the cherry blossoms from the water. πΈ π Transportation: Take the JR Lake Biwa Line Limited Express from Kyoto or other stations, get off at "Makino" Station, and transfer to the Takashima City Community Bus Makino Line to the Kaijima Ohsaki entrance. π πΈ The second cherry blossom spot is at Hikone Castle's Hikone Park on the northwest shore of Lake Biwa. Centered around the castle keep, there are 550 Somei Yoshino cherry trees. You can climb up to the keep to enjoy the stunning view of Lake Biwa and the cherry blossoms.
