I rarely plan my flower-chasing trips, but Mii-dera was the one temple I wanted to visit at the perfect moment. 🌸 🌊 I thought it would just be another ordinary "Rurikō-in" with cherry blossoms, but it turned out to be so much more! 🌿 Full-blooming cherry blossoms, a massive temple complex, and the most amazing weather—could it be anything other than sheer luck?‼️ 🌊 I can't help but wonder, how many hidden gems does Shiga Prefecture hold?🥹 Although Mii-dera is located in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, it's just a two-stop train ride from JR Kyoto Station—super convenient! 🚊 🌊 It sits right by the shores of Japan's largest freshwater lake, Lake Biwa, and is the head temple of the Tendai Jimon sect. 🌊 Founded in the 7th century as a temple associated with Emperor Tenji, it has become one of Japan's representative "Four Great Temples" and is much grander than I imagined! 🌟 🌊 With a total of 19 structures (including a bell tower, a three-story pagoda, and the Kanshodo Hall), it serves as a museum protecting and preserving a vast array of cultural heritage. 🏛️ #Japan 🌺
