Recently, I took my parents to explore the areas around the Bay Area. We started early with a whale-watching tour in Monterey 🐋, then enjoyed the artistic vibe of Carmel-by-the-Sea 🎨. We wandered around until 2 PM before realizing we were hungry! So we randomly walked into an American seafood restaurant to give my parents a taste of local food. To our surprise, even at that hour, Flaherty's was still packed with a waiting line! 😮 Maybe it was because we were hungry, but the four of us devoured the food and found it absolutely delicious 🍽️. Although it’s not a famous viral spot, the flavors were seriously impressive. Here are some seafood dishes we recommend: 🧡 Seafood Paella The portion of seafood was generous and super fresh—big shrimp, scallops, and clams 🦐🍚. Though the sauce was fairly standard, the seafood itself was outstanding! 🧡 Grilled Oyster 🦪 These were AMAZING—highly recommended! The oysters were plump and juicy, topped with a light layer of mayo and garlic, then grilled to crispy perfection. So flavorful! 🧡 Crispy Local Calamari A classic American seafood appetizer. The calamari was perfectly crispy, not too oily, and went great with the cocktail sauce. A solid choice! 🧡 Linguine Pescatore 🍝 A tasty seafood pasta with a generous amount of seafood—similar to the paella but with a tangy tomato base. Great for noodle lovers! 🧡 Grilled Seafood Platter The grilled shrimp were huge, crispy, and delicious—we loved them! The scallops were also fantastic 🔥. However, the other shellfish were just okay. Not the best value since only the shrimp and scallops stood out. We left feeling full and satisfied—my parents were really happy with the freshness and novelty of American-style seafood 😊.
