Life Experience +1! 37-Hour Train Journey on the Coast Starlight ✨
I finally checked off a dream from my bucket list: riding the Coast Starlight, a route even National Geographic recommends! 🚞✔️ 🌈 Los Angeles → Seattle, around 35 hours of scheduled travel, extended to about 37 hours with stops and delays. I booked a Roomette (Room 10, upper level left—perfect for ocean views). It’s a compact space with two surprisingly comfortable seats facing each other. By night, they convert into a single bed, with another bed folding down from above. Shared restrooms and showers are available, along with complimentary water and coffee ☕. Simple meals are included—either delivered to your room or enjoyed in the dining car with fellow travelers. Attentive staff check in regularly, and menus are fixed but satisfying. 🚂 The Journey: From South to North The train slowly moves from cityscapes along the Pacific coastline, passing through forests, small towns, farmlands, snowy mountains, lakes, and rice fields before returning to urban vistas. Outside my window, I saw: Beaches, cliffs, seabirds, surfers, coastal cottages… From summer shores to autumn leaves, then winter snow-capped peaks— A cinematic parade of nature and life, like traveling through four seasons in one ride. ☀️ Though bumpier than expected, when sunlight poured through the window, warming my skin, I’d doze off only to wake again, captivated by ever-changing views. Each scene felt like a living painting. Slow travel, gentle sights, quiet reflection— Somehow, 37 hours slipped peacefully by. #TrainTravel #CoastStarlight #ScenicJourney #USAbyRail #LifeGoals #SlowTravel #CaliforniaToSeattle #TravelDiaries #NatureViews #BucketListAdventure
