Little Rock, Arkansas ποΈ
Drove through Little Rock, Arkansas, and decided to make a stop! ππ¨ As the capital and largest city of Arkansas, Little Rock has a population of only around 190,000. Since it was a Saturday, the whole city felt pretty quiet and empty. Most people probably know Little Rock because of the historic Little Rock Nine event. βπΏπ In 1957, nine African American students enrolled at Little Rock Central High School. The admission of Black students into the previously all-white school sparked intense opposition. Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus, a supporter of racial segregation, initially blocked the students from entering. Eventually, President Eisenhower intervened and sent federal troops to ensure the students could safely attend the school. π Arkansas State Capitol: 500 Woodlane St, Little Rock, AR 72201 ποΈ π Little Rock Central High School: 1500 S Park St, Little Rock, AR 72202 π« #LittleRock #Arkansas #TravelUSA #RoadTrip #USATravel #AmericanHistory #SelfDriveTour #LifeInUSA #USAPhotography
