London, Ontario | Little Flavors Restaurant
The weather was absolutely perfect today! After work, I went to a long-saved restaurant with a friend. 1๏ธโฃ Kalbo Shortribs (Korean-Style Beef Short Ribs) ๐๐๐๐ The beef short ribs were a bit underwhelmingโsomething you could easily make at home. However, the seasoning was just right, so it wasnโt bad. The highlight of this dish was the kimchi and the undercooked rice. The kimchi was incredibly delicious, perfectly seasoned and refreshing, unlike other kimchi that can be overpowering. Chef, can you sell this kimchi separately? The undercooked rice, mixed with sesame oil and brown rice, had a strong presence. The first bite was average, but it grew on me the more I ate. 2๏ธโฃ Grilled Octopus ๐๐๐๐ If you love octopus, this is a must-order! It was different from any octopus Iโve had before. The octopus itself had a mild flavor, but the combination with the sauce and mint kimchi was amazing. I was pleasantly surprised and wanted to take the kimchi home. The sauce had a nice kick, and the mix of kimchi and sauce was both spicy and tangy, making it very appetizing. 3๏ธโฃ Mussels with Rice Cakes ๐๐๐๐๐ The overall flavor was just right. My favorite part was the rice cakes. When eaten alone, they first tasted sweet from the rice, followed by the tanginess of lemongrass, and then a hint of chili powderโs aroma and spiciness. For those who love carbs, this dish hits all the right notesโitโs really delicious. Breaking the rice cakes into smaller pieces and soaking them in the broth elevated the experience even more. The combination of rice fragrance, seafood sweetness, chili, and lemon created a rich and complex flavor. I really enjoyed it. The only downside was that the mussels were slightly overcooked. #LondonOntarioEats #LondonCanadaFood #LondonCanadaLife
