London’s Korean Food
🥣 Samgae-tang So yummy that it was swiftly devoured by friends, I didn’t even get a chance to taste the glutinous rice. The chicken soup is rich in flavor with a herbal aroma, a stark contrast to the monotonous ginseng chicken soup back home. 🍥 Teok-boki My goodness, I never thought rice cakes could be made like this before trying theirs. The flavor is truly unique, with a hint of wasabi that’s not overpowering but rather enhances the aroma. 🥘 Gamja-tang Oh my, this is so delicious and the portion is huge. It blows Shanghai’s potato soup out of the water. It’s a bit on the salty side, and the bones can be a bit tough to chew on, so you might need to get hands-on. You can ask the restaurant for gloves. 🫓 Haemul pa-jeno There’s a good amount of seafood, but the taste is just average. It’s neither here nor there. 🐔 Fried + Yang Yeom This is the king of value for money. The portion is massive; two girls with small appetites could probably share just this order of fried chicken. Each piece is large, super crispy, and you can tell it’s freshly fried. It’s a taste that lingers for a week. The sweet and spicy sauce is mixed to perfection, and the original flavor is also very aromatic. 🥗 Kogi japchae Every time I see this in K-dramas, I crave it so much. It truly lives up to expectations with its simple ingredients and authentic taste. It’s the perfect side dish to cut through the richness of the main courses. 🥢 Dakbal Sweet and spicy, also highly recommended. It’s not the kind that falls off the bone, but it’s soft and glutinous enough. 🍜 Naeng-myeon Cold noodles with ice cubes!! The sauce is rich and concentrated, the kind that needs to be cut with scissors. After being tired of the diluted broth in various Chinese barbecue restaurants, this thick sauce and springy noodle cold noodles are incredibly satisfying. You need to make a reservation in advance. It’s a bit tricky to book, but it’s much more convenient than standing in a long line outside like at the place next door. The portions are large, perfect for group meals. The average cost is less than thirty pounds, and you can eat to your heart’s content. The value is amazing. 😆 #MyFoodDiary #KoreanCuisine #AppetiteTone #DiningAmbiancePhotos #FoodAmbiance #LondonExploration #LondonFood #LondonKoreanFood #LondonLife
