London’s Must-Try Korean Fried Chicken 🍗
Hey everyone, I’m back! I’ve had my fair share of Korean food in London, but this was my first time at a Korean restaurant in Chinatown. The fried chicken at Hankki is seriously well-done – I recently visited and it’s definitely worth sharing! 🌟 🍽 What I Ordered 🍗 Fried Chicken Platter – The chicken is freshly fried, with a super crispy but not heavy exterior. The meat is tender and juicy, and the sauce is perfectly coated without being dry. It comes in four flavors: sweet and spicy, honey garlic, cheese powder, and more. Trying all four flavors in one go is super satisfying! The sweet and spicy has a classic Korean kick, the honey garlic is a perfect balance of sweet and savory, and the cheese powder chicken is the MVP! The chicken is generously coated with cheese powder, giving it a rich, savory, and creamy flavor with every bite. 😋 🦐 Grilled Cheese Shrimp Sushi Roll – As soon as it arrives, you can smell the aroma of grilled cheese. The cheese is slightly charred and has a great stringy texture. The shrimp is plump, the sushi rice is perfectly soft, and the overall flavor is rich but not greasy. 🍣 🥘 Fish Cake, Chicken Sausage, and Rice Cake – The sauce is thick and sweet and spicy just right. The rice cakes are chewy but have a nice bite, the fish cakes have an authentic Korean flavor, and the chicken sausage has a more substantial texture compared to the ham in regular rice cake dishes. This one is best enjoyed hot; the rice cakes can get a bit hard if they cool down. 🍖 🍜 Vegetarian Glass Noodle Stir-Fry – I ordered this to balance out the meal, and it turned out to be quite tasty. The noodles are flavorful without being greasy, and the fresh vegetables add a nice, light touch. It pairs perfectly with the fried chicken. 🍲 ☕ Coffee Puffs – This dish comes with individual puffs and a pot of thick, whipped coffee liquid. You pour the coffee over the puffs yourself. The outer shell of the puff gets slightly moist but doesn’t collapse, and the inside has a subtle coffee aroma. The sweetness is just right – a must-try for coffee lovers! 🥧 🥤 Pink Bag & Gamsahabnida – These two drinks have really unique names and are super Instagrammable! Pink Bag is non-alcoholic and tastes like a mix of strawberry juice and Milkis – it’s pink, sweet, and smooth. Gamsahabnida has alcohol and a refreshing, tangy citrus flavor with a hint of tea. It’s great for cutting through the richness (but skip it if you’re not into sour flavors). 🍃 💡 I highly recommend giving this place a try! It’s located in Chinatown, so if you’re unsure what to eat, Hankki is a safe bet. You won’t be disappointed! 👍 📍 Hankki London China Town #food #KoreanCuisine #RestaurantVisit #FriedChicken #NoOneCanResistFriedChicken #London #UK #UKLife #LondonRestaurant #Foodie
