London | Food Diary - The Breakfast Club
đThe Breakfast Club, Seven Dials A London chain offering American-style brunch with generous portions, great value, and deliciousness, but only a few branches nail the authenticity. For instance, the one in Soho is spot on, whereas the Seven Dials location is a bit of a letdown đ. đ„ăEGGS BENEDICTSă Huge portions, the bacon is the real deal, poached eggs cooked to perfection, and the hollandaise sauce can be a bit heavy after a while. The only twist is the use of English muffins instead of sourdough, but thatâs a matter of personal preference đ. đłăSCRAMBLED EGGS ON TOASTă The scrambled eggs here are very American-style, with the bread toasted in the oven and slathered in butter. The eggs are super creamy and rich in milk flavor. Highly recommended! đ ·With smoked salmonđŁ Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs are a classic brunch combo, but Iâm not too keen on the smoked salmon here. Itâs a bit too cooked and sometimes not the freshest, which affects the overall taste đ. ·With mushroom and salted spinachđ„Ź You can choose your sides, and the grilled mushroom is excellent, as is the salted spinach. Itâs not too salty and is a great option for those watching their figure đ„. ·With double spinachđ„Ź You can also go for a double helping if youâre only choosing one side đż. Iâve been to both the Soho and Seven Dials branches, and the quality varies a lot. The scrambled eggs at Seven Dials were quite dry (see the last pic), the bread wasnât fully toasted, and the butter was only partially spread. It wasnât even that busy, so Iâd recommend heading to the main store instead. Quality control in British dining can be a bit hit or miss đ€·ââïž.
