London | This Indian Cuisine Surprisingly Hit the Spot
I was craving a change of pace and had never tried Indian food before. I spotted a newly opened Indian restaurant and decided to meet up with a friend for lunch today. To be honest, when we first walked in, I almost left because the smell inside was quite off-putting. Since it’s a new place, the cooking smells hadn’t dissipated yet and were quite strong. It was so bad that I really wanted to leave 😂. But after a few minutes, the smell improved a bit, and we decided to give it a try. There were three of us, and we didn’t finish everything, so we took some home. 1️⃣ Indian Style Chowmein 🌕🌕🌕🌕 I thought it would be very salty and heavy, but it was actually just right. We ordered the shrimp version, but there were very few shrimp, and it cost an extra £3. I don’t think it’s worth it. I recommend just adding eggs—it’s delicious that way! The noodles aren’t greasy at all, and they don’t feel heavy when you eat them. If you like spicy food, you can ask them to add some heat! 2️⃣ Garlic Naan 🌕🌕🌕🌕 Garlic lovers, rejoice! This naan is homemade, and it smells amazing. It has very little salt, but the garlic sauce combined with the spices is truly fantastic. The edges are soft and mild in flavor, while the center, with its sauce and spices, pairs perfectly with the bread’s aroma. I loved it so much that we ordered an extra piece to enjoy with curry. 3️⃣ Butter Chicken with Bone 🌕🌕🌕🌗 This is a famous Indian dish. I’d only heard of butter chicken before, and my first taste was quite pleasant. The spices are well-balanced and don’t overpower the dish. It’s essentially a type of curry, and I found it really delicious when eaten with the naan bread! 4️⃣ Madras Curry Chicken 🌕🌕🌕 This curry is a blend of spices and coconut milk, giving it a slightly sweet and fragrant flavor, reminiscent of Malaysian curry. It’s different from butter chicken; this one is a bit sweeter. There are plenty of chicken pieces in the dish, making it very satisfying. As always, it’s delicious with naan bread, and I think it would also be great with rice. #uwo #LondonCanada #IndianFood #LondonCanadaFood #LittleLondonCanada
