London Canary Wharf | Turkish Feast šŸ„—šŸ‡¹šŸ‡·

šŸ“ **Moira Restaurant** (Just a 1-minute walk from the DLR station, and 10 minutes from the Underground station) I’ve been to this Turkish restaurant twice in one week with friends. I’d call it the best in London! (Challenge me if you disagree) šŸ‘©ā€šŸ³ **The Chef:** Turkish, and the food is **super authentic**! As someone who lived in Turkey for a few months, I can vouch that everything here is a must-try—no misses! šŸž **The Bread:** It’s a game-changer! I believe that if a restaurant pays attention to its appetizers, the main dishes will be just as good. (This applies to bread, pickles, and salads everywhere!) Their bread has a semi-leavened texture, reminiscent of Northern Chinese steamed buns, Italian focaccia, and the dreamy grilled flatbread from Xi’an street food. Fresh out of the oven, it’s warm and aromatic, with a hint of bell pepper and cumin. Paired with chili sauce and cucumber-tzatziki, it’s a perfect global fusion appetizer! Hummus, lentil soup, and mixed kebabs—just dig in! (I’d recommend the lamb kebab over the Kofta, which is a bit lightly seasoned. These dishes are quite filling!) 🦐 **Karadies:** Similar to Spanish Gambas al Ajillo, but with more prominent mixed spices! The baked shrimp is fresh, plump, and chewy. The sauce is perfect for dipping bread—absolutely delightful! šŸ‘ **For Lamb Lovers:** Try their Moussaka. It’s like a layered dish with eggplant, lamb, onion, bell pepper, potato, etc., similar to Italian lasagna! At first glance, the top looks like baked, cheesy goodness, but it’s actually creamy mashed potatoes! Paired with tangy tomato sauce, it’s very Greek (while Turkish versions often blend ā€œMediterraneanā€ and ā€œstewā€ elements). šŸ‘©ā€šŸ’¼ **Staff:** Mostly from the MENA region, and their service is just fine. 🪓 **Ambiance:** Pretty good! I’ve seen tourists, office workers, company gatherings, and dating couples here. The heating is on point, but the space is a bit crampedā€¼ļø šŸø **Drinks:** - **Straberry Mocktail:** Lots of fizz (strawberry-flavored soda) - **Pina Colada Cocktail:** Just okay (said with a shrug) šŸ’° **Cost:** Ā£25-35 per person ā° **Timing:** (Maybe because it’s not super popular yet) Both times we visited during peak dinner hours on weekdays, we could walk in. Still, it’s a good idea to call ahead for a reservation or to check. PS: Next time, I’m trying their Baklava! #DiningTogether #LondonDinner #CanaryWharfFood #LondonTurkishCuisine #LondonExplore
