London Family Outing | See What a Dinosaur Park Looked Like a Hundred Years Ago π¦
π¦ The dinosaur sculptures in Crystal Palace Park date back to 1854. The dinosaurs in the park are all first-class protected sculptures. It is said that this was the first time in human history that an attempt was made to model full-size replicas of dinosaurs. Perhaps (unfairly), what they are most famous for now is their inaccuracy, but they were actually pioneers in restoration techniques in the mid-nineteenth century, reflecting the latest scientific knowledge and skilled artistic techniques of the time. π¦ The park also features a hedge maze called The Maze. This maze is still one of the largest in the UK and has been a highlight of the park since 1870. π¦ Of course, a Playground is a must. A sandbox themed around dinosaur fossils is very entertaining. The sandbox also contains "dinosaur fossils" hidden within for children to dig up. π¦ Every Sunday, there is a food market in the park, right next to the playground and a cafΓ©, with restrooms nearby. The market is open from 10:00 to 16:00. π Coming up on 9/15 is the autumn leaves market. There will be lots of activities, it should be livelier and more fun than usual. #HowWouldYouRespondToSuchAScene #LondonFamilyOuting #LondonWeekend #ParentChildActivity #London #CrystalPalace #DinosaurPark #LondonParentChild #CrystalPalacePark
