🍽️ London | This is Definitely an Underrated Restaurant 🌟
Came to 📍Royal Exchange initially to admire this Grade I listed building and to browse the Hermès store here, but unexpectedly, I was drawn to this restaurant that occupies the entire second floor. Starting from the moment you ascend the stairs and pass through the stone archway, the experience is already full of ceremony. Upon arrival, we were guided to 📍Jang by the waiter, who introduced that 📍Engel on the other side is dedicated to mixology. The restaurant's furniture is in a deep red velvet tone, complemented by intricate floral and lighting designs, making you feel like you've traveled back to a medieval banquet in an instant. 💰 Price per person: £50-100 【Entree】 🫶🏻 Spicy Miso Black Cod | £39 The best of the night! I've had my fair share of cod, which can be rich and quickly satisfying, but the preparation here was a pleasant surprise. The cod itself has a rich sweetness, and it literally melts in your mouth, pairing perfectly with the sweet chili sauce – truly, you have to taste it to believe it! 👍🏻 Sirloin | £36 Who would have guessed that this palette of colors was actually a steak seasoning plate? The dish is truly a work of art, pleasing to both the eye and the palate. The steak is subtly flavored, designed to highlight the different tastes when paired with various condiments, and I personally love the spicy butter! 【Starter】 👍🏻 Amaebi Naengchae | £16 Very refreshing, the tender sweet shrimp paired with pickled radish and bamboo shoots creates a magical yet delicious flavor! 🫶🏻 Steak Tartare | £18 Another strong recommendation! It's a dish I've had quite often, but the beef here is genuinely fragrant. Paired with egg yolk, it becomes even more aromatic, and the addition of sweet chili sauce elevates it to another level. In summary, Korean sweet chili sauce really suits my taste buds! Dishes with it always seem more enhanced! 【Desserts】 👋🏻 Poached Pear | £11 The boiled pear with rice pudding was quite liked by my companion. 👌🏻 Kkwabaegi | £10 Recommended by the waiter... but it was indeed just a doughnut... 【Cocktails】 👍🏻 Nobunaga & Shiso Blossom | £16 I recommend the latter! It's heavy on fruit flavor but not too sweet. The ambiance is as retro and luxurious as can be, but the food is surprisingly just as impressive, making the overall experience excellent. They also regularly feature live music on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and occasional special performances, making it a restaurant with great value for money and perfect for dates! #LondonRestaurants #AtmosphereRestaurants #LondonLife #LondonFinancialCity #LondonDateNight #WesternFoodLondon #100RestaurantsExplorationPlan #LocalFoodEndorsement #HiddenGemRestaurants
