π· Long Beach | Island Diary π
The world is truly magical. Returning to the same place at a different time can feel like stepping into a completely different reality β as if falling into an alternate timeline. After my last visit, where we spotted whales over a dozen times π, I almost took them for grantedβ¦ until this trip reminded me theyβre not always there. Was my memory playing tricks on me? This time, the whales didnβt show β but a large pod of dolphins did! π And what a scene it was: sunlight draping the leaping dolphins and shimmering waves in a coat of gold π π«. People-watching on shore was just as fascinating. Long Beach doesnβt have the festive buzz of Santa Monica π‘, the extreme romance of Laguna π, or the breezy ease of Salt Creek ποΈ β instead, it carries a retro cinematic vibe π¬. Around the lighthouse park, people strolled, chatted, and wandered through. Newlyweds smiled radiantly, surrounded by well-wishers π. Stylish couples β dressed in everything from casual chic to bold prints β walked hand in hand π«. Colorful vintage cars zoomed by, disappearing from the frame as quickly as they arrived ππ¨. In that moment, two words came to mind: βThis is California.β π΄βοΈ #ShareYourOcean #Dolphins #California #LongBeach #WhaleWatching #IslandDiary #LosAngeles #RICOH #GR3x
