Long-Distance Couple Travel Diary – Fairbanks Food Edition

Long-Distance Couple Travel Diary – Fairbanks Food Edition 💕✈️ 1️⃣ Red Lantern 🌟🌟🌟 We got to the hotel past 8 PM and had to leave by 10 for aurora chasing—no time for a real meal 😅. So we ordered two snacks at the hotel bar. Not bad—the calamari was tender and fresh 🦑🍸. 2️⃣ Hotel Breakfast 🌟🌟🌟 The hotel buffet breakfast motivated us to get up and eat every morning 🍳☕. The dishes were mostly the same, but the fruits changed a bit daily 🍓🍌—and whatever fruit they had was super super sweet!! Our daily vitamin C came from breakfast, haha 🥗✨. 3️⃣ Eata Vybe Caribbean Cuisine –🌟🌟 Jamaican-style snacks—major warning ⚠️ DO NOT GO ‼️ You’ll find they’re out of everything you want to order 🙂‍↔️. Ended up with fried chicken wings and fried catfish—both tasted weird… Sour, stinky, salty, and greasy—no idea what seasoning they used 🤢. Peeling off the coating made it barely edible, but it was still fishy 😫. 4️⃣ Soba (Eastern European) 🌟🌟🌟🌟 These four stars are entirely for my tomato shrimp pasta 🍝❤️. Seriously delicious! The sauce was rich and coated every strand of noodle, and the shrimp were incredibly springy and crisp—way better than pasta back home 🦐✨. But that lamb sausage across the table… hard to describe 😶. Whoever came up with this recipe—it was so gamey I couldn’t swallow it… BUT!! Forgot to mention—the fries were amazing! Super crispy! 🍟🔥 🍷 Side story: I asked the chef to recommend a low-alcohol, sweet-tasting drink. He said they’re all pretty similar 😂. After picking and choosing, I accidentally picked the strongest one for my 🐶… Three sips of that cocktail made my heart race, so I stopped. 🐶 downed two full glasses angrily 🥃💥. 5️⃣ Thai House 🌟🌟🌟 Couldn’t handle any more “white people food”—time for some Asian eats 🍚🌶️. Thai iced tea was good after stirring 🧋. The cold appetizer had an interesting mix of textures—sour, spicy, sweet, salty, mostly sour, but just okay. The seafood soup was passable. The best was my seafood fried noodles! Huge portion and tasty overall, though a tad sweet 🍜🦞. 6️⃣ Dessert Stand 🍦 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Tired from walking? Eating chocolate ice cream in the snow is the best ❄️🍫. 7️⃣ The Crepery –🌟🌟🌟 Who on earth recommended the avocado crepe 🥑😱? One bite and I wanted to gag… Also, the local beer was bitter 🍺😖. Do not try it—major major disappointment 💣. 8️⃣ Bahn Thai 🌟🌟🌟 Yep, we came back for Asian food to cleanse our palate… badly wounded by the crepe experience 😅. Ordered two fried dishes and pineapple fried rice—both were pretty good 🍤🍍. Remember: eat the fruit here whenever you see it!! Everything’s super sweet 🍉💖. 9️⃣ Seattle Airport Rice Bowl 🌟🌟🌟 During our Seattle layover, got a beef mushroom rice bowl—a bit salty but acceptable 🍛✈️. #USATravel#AlaskaTravel#AlaskaFoodRecommendations#AlaskaTravelGuide
