Long Weekend Getaway | Savannah

Long Weekend Getaway | Savannah: A Southern French-Style Town The entire town is laid out in a grid pattern—no car needed at all! Flights are cheap too, making it perfect for a long weekend trip. 🏫 ShopSCAD: A store by SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) with free immersive 4D virtual enrollment shows—just like a Disney park performance! Definitely worth experiencing. 🍺 Prohibition Museum : Features lots of wax figures for an immersive dive into America’s Prohibition history. Super interactive, and the bar at the end serves great drinks. 🌳 Forsyth Park: A huge park shaded by oak trees, incredibly photogenic! It has the iconic fountain, and many people lounge on the large lawn soaking up the sun. 🏬 River Street: A riverside pedestrian street with shops—local candy stores, cookie shops, vintage stores, and lovely markets. 🏛️ Jepson/Telfair/Ownes: A combined ticket for three museums. The first two are art museums, and the last is a historic mansion with relics of a former slave owner’s estate. ⛪️ Cathedral Basilica: A majestic, sacred church. 🪑 Chippewa Sq: Filming location of Forrest Gump. 🚢 Trolly + Cruise: The famous local sightseeing trolley and boat tour. Drivers provide commentary on each street and landmark, and you can hop on/off at any stop. There are even role-playing performances on board midway. 👻 Ghost Tour: Ghost stories and exploration of old mansions. 🍫 Chocolat By Adam Turoni : Rumored to be the chocolate shop made famous by Forrest Gump. Great for gifting—their truffles are delicious. 💒 Olde Pink House: In my opinion, the best restaurant here. The service is on a level you won’t find in NYC! Recommended: Crispy Scored Flounder (sweet-and-sour American-style “squirrel mandarin fish”), She Crab Soup (local crab soup with a rich milky flavor)! Their complimentary biscuits, with buttery and milky notes, are amazing soaked in the soup. Chick Hot Pie is also a local specialty— topped with creamy pastry that soaks into the milky broth below. 🥑 Treylor Park: Must-try their fried avocado. Nachos Grande comes with loaded toppings on hash browns. 🥐 Collins Quarter : A local brunch spot with generous portions. Highly recommend the chia pudding. 🍦 Leopold: The famous local ice cream—classic American-style, overly sweet and rich. 🍧 Doki: More recommended than Leopold! The pistachio and lemon pie flavors are delicious. #USATravel#NorthAmericaTravelGuide#NorthAmericaTravel#TravelGuide#WeekendGetaways#Savannah
