Los Angeles|Double Trouble: One Meal, Two Sushi Spots to Avoid 💣😅
Kaneyoshi x Inaba Seriously… how are there so many glowing reviews online? This was a double whammy of disappointment. The whole meal left one impression: ingredient quality was shockingly poor. Lots of fish was torch‑seared, but the char couldn’t cover up the fishiness. Worst offenders: 🐟 Tuna akami + potato roll – Unbelievably off. The tuna tasted mushy and old, paired with something that felt like a random fridge side dish. 🐟 Seared mackerel – Strong fishy smell, unevenly charred (some pieces even came without skin). 🐟 Skipjack tuna sushi – One bite and the fishy taste rushed up. 🌊 Uni dishes (cold noodles + sushi) – Supposedly a signature, but the uni smelled off. Santa Barbara uni on the sushi was also fishy and unpleasant — saw another guest’s post saying the same. ❌ Environment was also disappointing For this price point, it’s the first time I’ve seen a sushi counter with such cheap‑looking glossy lacquer — uncomfortable and visually unappealing. The entrance was even worse — tucked inside what felt like a construction zone. If I’d brought someone I wasn’t close with, I’d have been embarrassed. 💸 $900+ for two — absolutely not okay. Pure suffering, pure torture. #Food #Omakase #LA #LADining #LAFail #JapaneseFood #Sushi
