Los Angeles|Hakata Izakaya HERO 🍶

📍 1929 Westwood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90025 📞 Recommend calling ahead for reservations! Came back after two years—and it’s just as delicious as I remember! 😋 The House Seared Mackerel was incredible—lightly seared, medium-well, so flavorful… I love silver-skinned fish, especially mackerel! 🐟 Also tried: 🍄 Shiitake Mushrooms – Ordered for health, but still tasty! 🍳 Niratama Omelette with Mentaiko – My friend called it “chives scrambled eggs”… and yeah, that’s accurate 😂 Tender eggs with sweet mayo and savory cod roe—so good! 🥩 Kobe Style Outside Skirt – Really aromatic and delicious beef 🐔 Chicken Wings Stuffed with Wonton – Still a winner! 🥓 Bacon-Wrapped Cabbage – Not greasy, super fragrant. You can choose the veggie filling! 🍆 Eggplant Gyoza – Was wondering what it was—turns out it’s like stuffed eggplant! Tasty and unique. The place was packed, lots of Japanese customers too! 🇯🇵 We debated whether it’s truly authentic Hakata-style… but our stereotype of Fukuoka is all about ramen and motsunabe. Conclusion: we need to visit Kyushu more! ✈️❤️ Have you been to Hakata Izakaya HERO or have a favorite izakaya in LA?
