Los Angeles|I Keep Coming Back to These Two Thai Spots
Used to never eat Thai food — now I’m deep in the rabbit hole thanks to these two. No reservations needed (though the first sometimes has a wait). 🥘 Ruen Pair – Thai Town Must-orders: Stew Pork Leg Over Rice Their star dish — not super Thai-style but incredibly tender and fragrant. Once sold out, I tried the duck rice (same seasoning, just swapped protein) — also amazing! Morning Glory Light, crisp stir-fried water spinach — a refreshing must. Pineapple Fried Rice Huge portion, sweet-savory combo — can’t stop eating! Red Curry Rich coconut flavor, loaded with ingredients — spice level might be bold for non-Thai fans (yellow curry is milder). ⚠️ Raw Shrimp Ceviche tasted great but upset my stomach after 2 hours — sensitive tummies beware 😣. Across the street: Bhan Kanom Thai for mango sticky rice and traditional snacks! 🥘 Pearl Thai Eatery – Pasadena My go-to spot — been almost 10 times. Map literally suggests it when I’m nearby! Regular orders: Chicken Satay Tender skewers with creamy peanut sauce — better than Ruen Pair’s version. Tom Yum Shrimp Tangy, slightly spicy, super appetizing — comes in two sizes. Pad Thai Sweet stir-fried noodles with bean sprouts and peanuts — my sweet-tooth favorite. Yellow Curry Mild spices, rich and creamy — perfect over rice. Loaded with ingredients and so satisfying. Pineapple Fried Rice Sweet, fragrant, generous portion. Snow Crab Fried Rice Packed with crab meat — a bit salty but great for savory lovers. Others: Tempura was oily, spring rolls too plain (though sauce was good), mango sticky rice depends on the mango’s ripeness. Don’t forget the Thai Tea! 🧋🧋 #LAEats #LARestaurants #LAFoodFinds #GoToSpots #ThaiFood #LAThaiFood #ThaiTownLA 🍚
