π Los Angelesο½My Current Favorite Michelin One-Star: Morihiro
π Morihiro 3133 Glendale Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90039 π° Table: $250 / Sushi Bar: $350 (before tax, drinks extra) π Book via Tock β pretty tough to get! Iβve tried many omakase spots in LA, but this Michelin one-star is my absolute favorite so far β€οΈ. Itβs Chef Moriβs comeback β awarded a Michelin star in 2021 π. The appetizers are thoughtfully designed β ingredients, plating, flavors β delicate and delicious π. Mori believes rice is the soul of sushi and even researches his own rice cultivation. Many of the exquisite ceramic dishes are handmade by Mori himself β such dedication makes it impossible not to love β€οΈ. The omakase runs about 2+ hours β highly recommend adding sake pairing πΆ. I love sweet-tart flavors, so I asked for the off-menu plum wine β so refreshing and perfect for girls π§. Course breakdown (appetizers β sushi β dessert): Appetizer highlight: Tofu with freshly grated wasabi β melts in your mouth π. Also loved the appetizer plate with abalone, crab, and savory jelly. Sashimi & sushi: Zero misses β firm, sweet fish over perfectly seasoned rice. Got to try uni from two different regions! Tamago: My favorite in LA, hands down π― β rich egg flavor with hidden shrimp inside, perfectly balanced. Dessert: Possibly the best omakase desserts ever π₯. Japanese melon in the market fruit course was unforgettable π . Miso caramel ice cream π¨ was also amazing. Take-home gift: Mochi matcha brownie β chewy, matcha-rich π΅. Seriously recommend this place β truly lives up to its Michelin star π. Service was exceptional, and I left fuller than from any other omakase π. Chef Mori is incredibly kind and loves engaging with guests. When he saw how much I loved the tamago, he gifted me a whole box + an extra strawberry cake to take home ππ°! Such a warm, surprising, and perfect dining experience π. #LosAngeles #LAFoodDiscovery #Omakase #Michelin #MichelinRestaurant #JapaneseFoodVisit
