Los Angeles | Finally Enjoyed Michelin-Level Beef Wellington at Home!

📍 Next-Kitchen 📍 245 Pine Ave Suite 130, Long Beach, CA 90802 ✨ Over the weekend, my lovely friend Yo and I headed to Long Beach for some seaside fun and finally tried Next Kitchen—a spot I’d been eyeing for its famous Beef Wellington after seeing it all over social media! 🌈 Tucked inside a plaza with a clear storefront, this cozy little restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as takeout. The owner and head chef is Chinese and previously worked at Michelin-starred restaurants (Chicago’s Alinea and LA’s Vespertine!) 🧑🍳🌟—there are even photos on the wall from his time there. 🌈 I came specifically for the Beef Wellington, and it did not disappoint! Everything is made fresh to order, and you can choose to take it home raw to bake yourself. Besides steak, they also serve soups, rice dishes, and more. Here’s what we tried: 🔸 Beef Wellington 🥩 – A must-order signature dish! We got one large cooked portion and one small raw one to take home. Absolutely incredible—even better than Hell’s Kitchen’s! The chef sliced the cooked one right in front of us, and it was mouthwatering 🤤. The puff pastry was crispy, wrapped around USDA Choice tenderloin with Italian ham and homemade mushroom paste. Served with asparagus and broccoli, every bite was pure satisfaction—tender, juicy, and not greasy at all! ❤️ The raw one I baked at home the next day with an egg wash, paired with asparagus and potatoes—felt like a Michelin-starred meal right in my kitchen! Beautiful plating, too 😄. 🔹 Tom Yum Soup 🦐 – A delicious sweet-and-sour broth packed with big shrimp, bean sprouts, and konjac. That first hot, tangy sip really hit the spot! 🔸 Slow-Cooked Crispy Chicken Rice 🐔 – Made with tender, slow-cooked chicken thigh and irresistibly crispy skin—somehow not oily or dry at all, and super healthy! Definitely worth a try. 🔹 We also grabbed their Portuguese egg tarts (rich and creamy!) and a fruit tea with panna cotta (a tad sweet for my taste, but still tasty). ✨ If you love Beef Wellington, this place is a must-try! It’s authentic Michelin-level quality. Available for dine-in, takeout, or delivery via Wee in LA and nearby Chinese communities. Folks in KT and DT can also enjoy it, and they even deliver to Irvine! You can even add truffle or customize the size from 4–16 oz. 🚀 #LAEats #LATakeout #LASteak #IrvineFood #LALife #LAFoodFinds #BeefWellington
