Booked Kogane in the SGV area for Friday lunch β the counter was perfectly full π We ordered the sake flight so we could sample a variety of flavors! πΆ The lunch omakase includes 13 pieces of sushi, no appetizers β and not a single piece disappointed! Each one was delicious π My favorites: π Hotate (scallop) β incredibly fresh and sweet π Dry-aged bluefin toro β so rich and buttery, super satisfying π Added uni at the end β the lunch set already included Hokkaido murasaki uni (which was great), but the Amakusa aka uni we added was even sweeter and more flavorful β highly recommend! ππ π Surprisingly loved the sanma (saury fish) β I usually donβt go for silver-skinned fish, but this one was amazing πβ¨ By the end, plus the extra uni, I was totally stuffed! The chef was super friendly and chatted with us throughout π£οΈβ€οΈ π° Price was a steal β lunch omakase is only $120 per person (sake not included), which is seriously great value! And with no rush to turn the table for dinner service, the vibe was relaxed and enjoyable. Definitely coming back to try their dinner course with appetizers next time!
