Los Angeles Cafe Spotlight｜This Coffee Shop Nailed the Chill Vibes! 🫴

Your LA coffee shop excavator is back at it again! ⛏️ Highland Park – you probably know it as that neighborhood packed with cool cafes, right? ☕️ 🖤 Today, I visited Civil Coffee! I usually prefer my coffee without sugar – my go-to orders are an oat latte or a pour-over. They have several signature drinks, and I tried the Vanilla Oaty today: Vanilla shaken espresso with a hint of Hawaiian sea salt. Sounds delicious, so I was super excited to try it… But wow – it was WAY too sweet for me! Felt like the coffee went missing! 🤯 ‼️ But here’s the real highlight! Their backyard seating is absolutely amazing! 😍 So many spots to relax. A sunny summer afternoon ☀️ + an iced coffee 🧊 = pure LA bliss! ‼️ Even better – The backyard connects directly to a public timed parking lot with plenty of spaces! Park your car and walk right into the cafe through the back – so convenient! 🚗💨 🏠 Inside, the space features super high ceilings – feels open and airy as soon as you walk in! Unlike some smaller spots that can feel a bit cramped, this one’s refreshingly spacious. ☕️ Right by the entrance, there’s a whole row of coffee beans on display. Usually, at a roastery like this, I’d go for a pour-over or espresso to taste their craft… But today was too hot – I craved something cold. Maybe next time! 🚪 You can also sit right out front on either side of the entrance – perfect for that classic street-side coffee vibe! I used to always stick to York Blvd. when visiting Highland Park, but today I discovered three more coffee spots near Figueroa St. worth checking out! Have you been to Civil Coffee?
