Los Angeles Ktown Michelin-Recommended Korean Restaurant Soban 🍽️

The famous Soban – One of the most highly praised Korean restaurants in all of LA, but honestly, I feel like it’s just okay. Seems more tailored to foreign tastes. 😅 🥘 The menu isn’t very extensive. Their signature dishes are: • Soy Marinated Crab 🦀 • Braised Fish 🐟 • Braised Beef Short Ribs 🐮 🦞 I do want to recommend their Tofu Seafood Pancake – It’s seriously the best seafood pancake I’ve had in Ktown so far! (Sulga’s is a close second.) Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside – and since it’s made with tofu, it’s lower in carbs! 🙌 🐮 The Braised Beef Short Ribs with shiitake mushrooms tasted very homestyle – Nothing particularly standout, so I wouldn’t specifically recommend it. 🙅 The Fish Roe Soup was a letdown. The ingredients and broth felt completely separate – no harmony in flavor. The fish roe, which should’ve been sweet and fresh, had a dry, egg-yolk-like texture that was hard to swallow. 🍴 The side dishes were plentiful and nice though! Might come back another time to try the Soy Crab. 🦀👀 Have you been to Soban? What’s your go-to Korean spot in Ktown?
