π Los Angeles Michelin One-Star Omakase β Shunji
Michelin one-star omakase in Santa Monica, LA. They have two rooms: Chef Shunji and apprentice Miki. I heard Shunjiβs sushi is noticeably different, and his room is much larger. As soon as Shunji returned from Japan, I quickly booked his counter. A total of 16 courses, with more cooked dishes than typical omakase. Price-wise, itβs great value for LA omakase β even girls leave super full! Shunji kept joking with us throughout β a really fun, happy meal π. My favorite dishes from this menu: π Golden Threadfin Bream Sashimi + Uni + Tosazu Jelly The uni was sweet as heaven. π Sesame Tofu β Shunji knew Iβd just returned from Kyoto and asked if it brought back memories π₯Ή. π Fried Whitebait + Salted Egg Yolk Wrapped Fried Fish Roe So perfect with drinks!! πΆ π Monkfish Liver PΓ’tΓ© + Toast β took the aroma to another level. π Abalone Porridge β tasted just like homemade Cantonese abalone congee. π Sardine Roll β my moonlight dish π β layers of flavor were incredible. β Tamagoyaki was surprisingly dry β not sure why.
