Los Angeles Takagi Coffee☕️🥞 Weekend Visit? Wait First!
While the name suggests it's a coffee shop, Takagi Coffee is essentially more of a Brunch spot. They claim to serve Japan's best soufflé pancakes, and the decor follows a minimalist Japanese style. The shop has about eight bar seats and over ten tables for two. Since it's near The Grove, it gets pretty crowded once you're seated. Maybe because it just opened, they don't offer any takeout yet, and you can't grab a coffee while waiting in line. 🚗 Weekend Queue and Parking Tips (For Reference) 1️⃣ Arrive before 9 AM: Direct seating, plenty of parking spots. 2️⃣ Arrive a few minutes after opening: Sign up for the waitlist, no contact via phone number, plenty of parking, wait about 1-1.5 hours. 3️⃣ Arrive half an hour after opening: Parking is scarce, wait around two hours. 4️⃣ Afternoon situation is unknown. About the Food ☕️ I ordered Peaberry, which I think was roasted a bit too dark for my taste. It wasn't bad, just not my favorite flavor profile. 🍵 Saw someone else's Matcha Coconut Milk Latte, which looked great, but at $12, I backed out, considering I had another matcha plan later that day. 🥞 The signature soufflé pancake was indeed delicious, flawless in every way, full of eggy and milky aroma, soft yet chewy, and slightly larger than expected. 🥪 The Chicken Sando was tasty but not amazing; the mustard and mayo were perfectly balanced, though the presentation was a bit lacking. 🍔 The hamburger steak was pretty average; I felt there was too much starch, making it a bit doughy. #LA #LosAngeles #LosAngelesRestaurants #LosAngelesFood #LosAngelesBrunch #TheGrove
