Louisville Must-Eat List | Mima | Amazing Cuban Cuisine
When visiting Louisville, besides watching horse races and drinking bourbon, don’t miss out on the food! Mima is a Cuban restaurant highly recommended by locals—it’s absolutely stunning! From the exterior to the interior, the retro vibe instantly transports you to 1950s Havana. ❤️ Camarones al Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp) The name might be hard to pronounce, but the flavor is incredible! Buttery garlic-lime sauce with tender, savory shrimp—a must-order! ❤️ Pescado Crujiente (Crispy Fish) Thick fish fillet, crispy outside and juicy inside, served with salsa and avocado salad. Perfect! Another must-order! ❤️ Mojito Their mojito is both authentic and visually appealing—a definite must-try! We ordered the piña colada version, topped with coconut flakes and sugarcane, maxing out the Caribbean vibes. ✅ Arroz Imperial (Imperial Rice) A Cuban-style baked rice dish with roasted chicken, cheese, and bell peppers. Worth trying! The chicken was juicy but not the tenderest—though it paired well with avocado sauce. Solid choice. ✅ Cuban Flan Served with piña colada ice cream and rich caramel flavor. I was too full to fully enjoy it—might have been better to try the chocolate cigar instead! ✅ Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📍 La Bodeguita de Mima, Louisville, KY (Featured on Eater’s Louisville Must-Eat List) 💲 Average $50 per person (including drinks) 🗓 Visit Date: May 29, 2023 Stay tuned for more updates on must-eat spots in Louisville and Indianapolis!
