Lyon: Seafood Freedom at €25.90: Restaurant O Gril
Address: 403 A. Jean Jaurès, 69150 Décines-Charpieu, France Take the T3 line from central Lyon to Decines Grand Large station, then walk for 10 minutes—you’ll find this gem. It’s truly one of Lyon’s most "flavorful" buffets, with an evening price of just €25.90 per person. Keep an eye on the price chart in Figure , as rates vary slightly by day.😘 While lobsters and Dungeness crabs aren’t on the spread, there’s no shortage of other seafood treasures: plump shrimp 🦐, juicy conchs, and more. There’s also a selection of raw seafood that you can hand over to the chefs, who’ll cook it up your way—whether you prefer teppanyaki, stir-fry, or grilled preparations. The chef here is a uncle, so communication is a breeze if you speak Mandarin! A combo of mascarpone, truffle cream, and fresh black truffle, served with rotini that’s supposed to hold the sauce well. In theory, it should be amazing, and since it was truffle season, the aroma was promising. But it tasted less fragrant than it smelled, and it was under-salted. Having had richer black truffle dishes before, this didn’t wow me. Still, the portion was huge—I couldn’t finish it.🙌 The burrata: It seems to have been taken off the menu now, as I can’t find it. Even though they used a giant Burrata di Puglia, the milkiness wasn’t very impactful. Maybe it’s because I’d eaten all kinds of burrata in Italy, including bigger, creamier ones. Plus, the tomato puree it came with had a weird, off-putting flavor that made me a bit queasy—sneaky seasoning, indeed.🤣 The only thing to note: all drinks are extra. But you can skip them—there’s free water and complimentary yogurt to enjoy with your meal.😘 In short, if you’re craving a hearty feast or missing that satisfying seafood flavor, this is the place to indulge. Whether you’re looking to dive into a big meal without holding back or just want to savor delicious seafood, it’s well worth a visit.👍 #FrenchCuisine #Lyon #France #Paris #LyonFood #Lobster #FrenchOysters #Oysters #Buffet
