Lyon Cuisine 🍴
Came to Lyon for Coldplay’s Concert! Turns out, the random walk-in bistro on the street was surprisingly delicious… Here’s the story: we’d reserved a fancy fine-dining spot, but only got a 2 PM slot. We were way too hungry at noon, so we decided to try walking into another place instead.🌸🌸 The first bouchon we went to was fully booked 🈵. 🎉🎉 We checked another spot on a whim, and it completely exceeded our expectations—almost every dish stood out, and you could taste the care put into them. Also, the menu felt quite different from the typical French dishes you find in Paris. My Chinese stomach absolutely loved it! It brought back memories of dining in Lisbon; I’ve found my second home in Europe 🫶.🌷🌷 Entrée - Frog legs in pesto sauce and egg in red wine sauce🌈🌈 Honestly, I can’t remember their actual names, so I made these up hhhh. 🍅🍅The frog leg sauce was really unique—small portion, but perfect for whetting the appetite. The egg dish, though… it was a bit too “French” for me 😅🙏. Plat (Main Course)💖💖 - You MUST order the quenelle!!! I’d call it France’s version of fish cake/fish ball 🇫🇷. It even came with rice hhhh, which made me feel like I was back home. 🥐 The sauce was creamy but not greasy—so good with rice!👉👈 - The other main was pork shoulder (not sure about the exact name) and it was pretty good too~ Dessert😊 We chose tarte praline and a yogurt-based gateau (cake). Praline is like Lyon’s specialty “pink nut candy”—a bit on the sweet side. My order was frozen yogurt + cake + honeycomb + clotted cream. I fell in love with this combination in one bite 🥹. I even want to recreate it at home later!☀️☀️ And the value for money was amazing 🥹—a satisfying 3-course menu was only 31 euros! Who gets it?! 🌟 Bouchon Bât-d'Argent💓💓 #Lyon #FranceLyon #LyonFood #LyonLife #LyonTravel #FrenchFood #FrenchCuisine #LifeInFrance #LyonGuide
