📍307 Somerville Ave, Somerville We visited on a Friday night, and the place was bustling with families from South and Central America. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming! 1️⃣ **Cancha (Complimentary Pre-Meal Snack)** Peruvian "popcorn"! These are large roasted corn kernels. The sauce that comes with it is surprisingly delicious. It adds a nice touch to the dish! 🌿 2️⃣ **Yuquitas** Peruvian-style fries made from yuca (cassava). The exterior is golden and crispy, while the inside is soft and slightly chewy. 🧀 Served with Huancaína Sauce, a creamy dip made from cheese, chili peppers, and cream. Highly recommended! ✅ 3️⃣ **Ceviche de Pescado** The national dish of Peru—raw fish marinated in lemon juice, onions, and rocoto peppers. It's tangy, spicy, and refreshing, perfect for cleansing the palate. However, it does get a bit too sour towards the end. It reminded me of some Southeast Asian flavors, and I think the fish was blanched to about 70-80% cooked. 🐟 4️⃣ **Seco a la Norteña** Slow-cooked beef that's tender and flavorful. Served with rice and beans, this dish is hearty and quintessentially South American. It feels like a home-cooked meal made by a cafeteria auntie! 🍛 5️⃣ **Anticuchos** Grilled beef heart skewers. This was my first time trying beef heart, and the charcoal-grilled aroma combined with Peruvian chili sauce made it quite interesting. The texture is similar to beef tendon, and while it has a slight aftertaste when cooled, it's worth trying. It reminded me a bit of Yunnan-style barbecue. 🍖 Empanada (Forgot to take a photo) Handmade beef empanadas with a flaky crust and spiced filling. Dusting them with powdered sugar and dipping them in Peruvian chili sauce adds a nice touch. 🥔 🍹 **Cocktails**: **Red Sangria** A Peruvian-style sangria that's lighter on the alcohol but heavy on the fruity flavors. Perfect for sipping while enjoying the lively atmosphere! 🍇 **Tropical Mojito** A tropical twist on the classic Mojito! It features the usual mint, but with the added tropical fruitiness of pineapple. It's super refreshing and pairs perfectly with seafood! ✅ Highly recommended! #100RestaurantsChallenge #DinnerTonight #BeautifulFood #RestaurantHopping #DinnerTonight #Foodie #LocalFoodRecommendations
