Mama Dough in Seattle
We randomly picked a small eatery for a quick bite before shopping at 99 Ranch, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! đĽ Originally, my partner and I just wanted to grab something quick and new before heading into 99 Ranch. At Great Wall Mall, we saw Mama Dough making dumplings fresh on-site, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered: 1ď¸âŁ Pan-Fried Dumpling Combo (Three Delicacies + Pork & Chive) 2ď¸âŁ Lamb Pan-Fried Dumplings 3ď¸âŁ Shrimp Fried Rice Starting with the pan-fried dumplingsâtheyâre done in a classic Northern style, with a whole crispy starch layer on the bottom. Fragrant, perfectly intact, and not overcooked. The filling was perfectly seasoned, and with the first bite, juicy goodness burst right out. My partner and I exchanged a knowing nod after the first one: thumbs up. In the combo, I personally preferred the Three Delicaciesârefreshing and not greasy. The Pork & Chive was solid too, no complaints here. The Lamb Pan-Fried Dumplings were my partnerâs choice (Iâm not a big lamb eater), but honestly, these were better than other lamb dumplings Iâve tried around Seattle. They had that distinct lamb aroma, but it wasnât overpoweringâacceptable for those who can handle it. Whether you like it or not depends on personal taste. The Shrimp Fried Rice wasnât particularly standout (it wouldâve been even better if the rice grains were a bit crispier), but overall, it was slightly above average. We mainly ordered it just to fill up, and it didnât disappoint. đ In summary: If youâre near 99 Ranch or Great Wall Mall and craving something warm and homestyle, Mama Dough is worth a tryâespecially their pan-fried dumplings. Next time before grocery shopping, weâll probably stop by again for another round and maybe try their soup dumplings too! đ #SeattleLife #SeattleFood #SeattleFoodExploration #SeattleWeekend #99Ranch
