Medellín Travel Guide in Colombia🇨🇴(2)
Plaza Botero This iconic square is famous for its plump sculptures by Fernando Botero. However, just one street away lies one of Medellín's most dangerous and chaotic neighborhoods, filled with homeless people and trash. When passing through this area, my Uber driver even asked me to roll up the windows. It's surreal to think that such a stark contrast exists right next to a city center square—it feels like stepping into Haiti. 😔 Metrocable (Cable Car System) This is the top attraction in Medellín! There are six cable car lines. Take the metro Line A to Acevedo, transfer to cable car Line K to Santo Domingo, and finally switch to cable car Line L to Arvi station. It's a super long cable car ride (about half an hour) that offers an incredible view of the city (metro route p2). As you cross the mountain peaks, the vast expanse of the city unfolds before your eyes—it's an unforgettable experience! 🚡 Accommodation I stayed in the El Poblado neighborhood, which is filled with foreigners and considered a wealthy area. The street below my place was lined with bars, making for a lively nightlife. The only downside was the noise at midnight, which made it hard to sleep. 🍻 #Colombia #South America
