Cartagena: Hot, Romantic & Full of Surprises 💃🌴
Before arriving, Cartagena had a terrible reputation among our Bogotá friends—"open sewer" was the phrase they used. But as seasoned travelers, we owed it a fair shot. And boy, were we glad we came! Our 3-Day Adventure Day 1: 🏠 Airbnb: Clean, central, and cozy—perfect launchpad. 🍽️ First Meal: A famous local spot that instantly won us over. Hello, flavor town! 😋 🏰 Old Town: Stunning colonial architecture + brutal heat. Worth every sweaty photo op! 🌅 Sunset at the Walls: Ocean breezes saved us from melting. Day 2: 🦩 Bird Park: Peaceful, flamingo-packed, zero crowds. 🏝️ Barú Island: Like a human soup pot—avoid unless you love elbow-to-elbow beaches. Day 3: 🍹 Eat → Nap → Repeat: Our Airbnb’s hammock was MVP. Verdict Cartagena’s far from a "sewer"—it’s a colorful, delicious (but sweltering) dream. We’ll be back! 🍴 Top Eats 1️⃣ Restaurante Candé (Must!) Fresh seafood + live music 🎶 ~¥300/person 2️⃣ Buena Vida Marisquería (Hidden gem!) Every dish dazzles 💫 ~¥300/person 3️⃣ DOÑA LOLA (Skip it) Pretty but overpriced (¥400/person for meh food) #CartagenaUncensored #ColombiaEats
