Memorium Nuremberg Trials
Memorium Nürnberger Prozesse The trials here were not about revenge, but about bringing war criminals to justice, allowing them to face public judgment through the judicial system. ⚖️ This was the site of the first public trial of World War II criminals after the war. Seventy-eight years have passed, and much has changed here. Comparing the tense images from the courtroom back then, in this not-so-peaceful year of 2024, my heart still cannot find peace. 😔 In Interrogation Room 600, the left side of the green marble colonnade is adorned with a sculpture of Medusa's head. Directly above is the depiction of Eve handing the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge to Adam. On the left, the figure holding a sword represents Germanic law, while on the right, the figure with a club symbolizes Roman law. These elements together form the foundation of German law. 🏛️ The 22 main defendants sat in two rows of chairs inside the room. The American designer intentionally created these chairs in a spartan, simple style, deliberately ignoring the high status of the accused... The trial was about to unfold... 📜 #History #HistoricalCulture #SeeingTheWorld #HistoricalPhotos
