π Memphis 2-Day Travel Guide β Day 1 π
(Just a 2-hour flight from Washington, D.C.!) Come enjoy the Southern sunshine and vast plains of the Midwest ππΎ Since I had a friend driving me around, hereβs how we spent Day 1: Graceland πΈ + St. Jude Childrenβs Research Hospital π₯ + Mississippi River π π‘ 1. Graceland (I bought the mid-tier ticket for $77, which includes all exhibits) Graceland is the home of Elvis Presley β the King of Rock βnβ Roll πΆ and one of the biggest music icons in modern history. Die-hard fans make pilgrimages here every year! The estate spans about 432 acres and includes Elvisβs mansion, gardens, horse ranch, and more. Each room in the main house is uniquely and lavishly decorated π β¨. You can also explore exhibits about his life, career, cars π, private jet βοΈ, stage outfits, and much more. An iPad audio guide is included β very informative and engaging! π₯ 2. St. Jude Childrenβs Research Hospital This is one of the worldβs leading pediatric research hospitals π. All treatment is free β including meals and lodging for families πποΈ. The interior is designed to be warm, magical, and child-friendly π§Έβ¨. Many celebrities visit here to show support. Note: The hospital is generally not open to the public on weekdays, and weekend visits require staff accompaniment. I was deeply moved learning that St. Jude treats some of the most challenging cases from around the world. Wishing all the little warriors health and happiness ππͺ. π 3. Mississippi River St. Jude is located near the Mississippi River β we took a short ride to the riverbank. With spring in full bloom πΈ, flowers and greenery stretched from the treetops to the grass β such a beautiful scene! You can also see the Hernando Bridge spanning the river π. For the best view, head to the island in the middle of the river. A sunny spring stroll here is absolutely refreshing and peaceful πβοΈ. #TravelGuide #USA #WeekendGetaway #Memphis #Graceland #StJude #MississippiRiver #SpringTravel πΊπΈβ¨
