Memphis Food Discovery 🍽️
Just moved to Memphis recently, so I’ve been exploring downtown. Today I visited Beale Street — such a cool vibe! It’s like Nashville’s more low-key cousin 😄. Saw plenty of police around (lol), but having lived in Baltimore before, Memphis feels less dangerous than I expected. Came across a really interesting sign about Chinese immigrants — back in the segregation era, Chinese-owned grocery stores served Black communities and played a meaningful role in local history 🧡. Also spotted some quirky restaurants along the way… there was even a place called “Irish Goat” 🐐! Tried Dock Off 5th for lunch — cute spot that reminded me of those cozy Cambridge bistros! The Dock’s Sliders were delicious, and the honey chicken sandwich was a win 🍯🍗. But note to self: maybe skip the “Seafood Heaven” fried rice… couldn’t even find a strand of lobster 🦞😅. When in a nice restaurant, maybe stick to… nice restaurant food. #Memphis #USATravel #FoodieAdventure #BealeStreet #SouthernEats 🎵🇺🇸
