Memphis Travel Guide: FedExForum Arena & Mud Island River Park

I’m grouping these two together because if you’re only in Memphis for a day or two, they might not be must-sees — but each has its charm! 📍 Mud Island River Park A. This is where you’ll find the Memphis sign 🖼️. I love city sign selfies (I even did one in Alaska!), so I had to come. Fair warning — the sign is smaller than you might expect and a bit tricky to find. B. Don’t fully trust your GPS here 🧭. Just navigate to the Mud Island River Park parking lot. You can’t drive directly to the sign — it’s a short walk from there. C. The parking lot is actually behind the sign. The park is pretty big — keep walking, and you’ll find it! There’s also a river walkway and a stage — probably hosts music festivals in the summer 🎵. D. It’s warm here… and the mosquitoes are HUGE and everywhere 🦟😂. Snap your pics quickly and avoid lingering on the grass! E. You can also see the bridge and the Mississippi River from here — nice views for sure 🌉. 🏟️ FedExForum Arena A. Home of the Memphis Grizzlies! If you have time, catch a game 🏀 — it’s fun to experience an NBA arena. B. It’s located right downtown next to Beale Street — super walkable. If you find parking, you won’t need to move your car. C. As a smaller market, tickets are pretty affordable. Ja Morant was injured when I went, but almost half the crowd still wore his №12 jersey. I bet it’s packed when he plays! D. Memphians LOVE basketball — the atmosphere is electric ⚡️. Highly recommend! E. The food here is actually good and fairly priced 🍔🌭. Pro tip: the card readers are sloooow — bring patience or cash. F. Parking was $15. I got a hot dog + chips combo for $13.99 — not bad for arena food! G. Heads up 🚨: Only clear bags are allowed inside (even small purses aren’t permitted unless see-through).
