Menya Hanabi ๐ โ Irvine's Hidden Gem for Japanese Mazesoba!
Lately Iโve been eating alone a lot ๐โฆ and thereโs something strangely comforting about having ramen, Chongqing noodles, poke, or malatang by yourself. Itโs lonelyโฆ but also weirdly peaceful? ๐ฅน Tried this Japanese-style mazesoba (brothless noodle dish) in Irvine โ and it did NOT disappoint! The shop shares a plaza with HeyTea and 99 Ranch ๐ง, and Soma Boba is right across the street โ perfect for a post-meal drink ๐ I ordered the Deluxe Maze Soba โ which basically means it came with an extra soft-boiled egg ๐ฅ The default chashu is served in thick chunks, but you can also choose minced pork. I stuck with the chunksโฆ but turns out the dish already comes with both! Lucky me ๐ What makes this noodle SO interesting: Itโs loaded with scallions, garlic, chives, and a noticeable kick of white pepper ๐ถ๏ธ๐ง๐ฟ The flavor isnโt overly salty โ honestly, just perfectly balanced ๐ Went right after opening on a Wednesday noon โ and it filled up FAST! There was already a waitlist when I left ๐ Right before I finished, the server even offered me FREE rice to mix with the remaining sauce (classic mazesoba move!) โ such great service ๐ฏ (I was too full to take itโฆ but the gesture was ๐) ๐ Menya Hanabi (Shared plaza with HeyTea & 99 Ranch) #IrvineEats #IrvineRamen #JapaneseNoodles #Mazesoba #SoloDining #IrvineFood #LARamen #ComfortFood #HiddenGem
