Menya Hanabi ๐Ÿœ โ€“ Irvine's Hidden Gem for Japanese Mazesoba!

Lately Iโ€™ve been eating alone a lot ๐Ÿšโ€ฆ and thereโ€™s something strangely comforting about having ramen, Chongqing noodles, poke, or malatang by yourself. Itโ€™s lonelyโ€ฆ but also weirdly peaceful? ๐Ÿฅน Tried this Japanese-style mazesoba (brothless noodle dish) in Irvine โ€“ and it did NOT disappoint! The shop shares a plaza with HeyTea and 99 Ranch ๐Ÿง‹, and Soma Boba is right across the street โ€“ perfect for a post-meal drink ๐Ÿ˜Œ I ordered the Deluxe Maze Soba โ€“ which basically means it came with an extra soft-boiled egg ๐Ÿฅš The default chashu is served in thick chunks, but you can also choose minced pork. I stuck with the chunksโ€ฆ but turns out the dish already comes with both! Lucky me ๐Ÿ˜‚ What makes this noodle SO interesting: Itโ€™s loaded with scallions, garlic, chives, and a noticeable kick of white pepper ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿง„๐ŸŒฟ The flavor isnโ€™t overly salty โ€“ honestly, just perfectly balanced ๐Ÿ‘Œ Went right after opening on a Wednesday noon โ€“ and it filled up FAST! There was already a waitlist when I left ๐Ÿš€ Right before I finished, the server even offered me FREE rice to mix with the remaining sauce (classic mazesoba move!) โ€“ such great service ๐Ÿ’ฏ (I was too full to take itโ€ฆ but the gesture was ๐Ÿ‘) ๐Ÿ“ Menya Hanabi (Shared plaza with HeyTea & 99 Ranch) #IrvineEats #IrvineRamen #JapaneseNoodles #Mazesoba #SoloDining #IrvineFood #LARamen #ComfortFood #HiddenGem
