Merida, Mexico Food Guide

💛In November, I visited Merida, Mexico for "The Best Chef Awards." It was my first time in Mexico—everything felt so fresh. 💛My days were filled with endless eating—from fine dining to tiny, hard-to-get-into local spots. Here are some places I highly recommend: 🌀 Pancho Maiz My favorite restaurant on this trip. Open from breakfast, it serves authentic Mexican flavors with a modern twist in a relaxed setting. Even Spanish chef Dabiz Muñoz strongly recommends it. 🌀 La Lupita A generations-old market stall with never-ending lines of locals. Every chef and food journalist visiting Merida makes a stop here for authentic Mexican street food. Watching the cooks hand-shred meat is a uniquely Mexican experience. 🌈 Museum of Yucateca Gastronomy A museum where you can actually eat. The setting is beautiful, the food is solid, and afterward, you can visit the backyard to watch local abuelas make fresh tortillas. 🌈 Wayan'e :A breakfast spot beloved by locals. ⭕ Anima:A cool restaurant with a courtyard where they grill tacos on the spot. They also have an awesome bar with great mezcal. #MexicoTravel #FoodMuseum #MeridaMexico
