Meteora – Sister Restaurant to Vespertine 🌟 MICHELIN 1-Star
After dining at Vespertine last week, I was super curious about Chef Jordan’s other Michelin-starred spot, Meteora✨. Inspired by ancient pasts as a source for the future, its name comes from the Greek μετέωρα (metéōra), meaning “suspended in the air.” The atmosphere is stunning — no surprise given Chef Jordan’s impeccable taste — this one leans into a wild, tropical jungle vibe 🌿🌴, filled with the soothing scent of sage. So serene! Yet another LA one-star that many call “not good” 😅… Probably because the flavors draw heavily from South American and Amazonian styles — smoking, charring, and fermentation techniques. Guess taste really is subjective! For those who love innovative cuisine, it’s a gem 💎. Personally, as someone who enjoys bold new flavors, I really liked it! My favorites: 🐚 Scallop with persimmon 🍠 Charred sweet potato with papaya 🔥 Smoked roe with fermented butter sauce And from dessert: Tigernut sorbet & White Jaguar cacao 🍫❄️ 6-course menu: $165 per person With drinks, tax, and service → around $230 per person 💸 #LosAngeles #LAEats #MichelinStar #MeteoraLA #FineDining #FoodInnovation #TropicalVibes
