Mexico|Food Review at the New All-Inclusive Secrets Tulum Resort
This newly opened all-inclusive hotel in downtown Tulum was built at the end of 2023. I’ve covered the overall hotel environment in my previous post (check the collection at the bottom). This post focuses on reviewing the restaurants inside the hotel. 🍽️ Restaurant Reviews 🟤 Jasmine (Asian-Peruvian Fusion Cuisine) Top floor, often crowded with long waits Recommended: Grilled Octopus 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Beef Gunkan (Wagyu Sushi) 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (Must-try!) Matcha Cake 🌟🌟🌟 ❌ Average/Miss: Coconut Shrimp Ramen (Savory, not sweet as expected) Short Rib (Tastes like sweet braised beef, mediocre) Gulf Shrimp (Sauce too sweet) 🟤 Bluewater Grill (Steakhouse) First floor, hard to find (lots of twists and turns), lots of mosquitoes! Recommended: Lobster Bisque 🌟🌟🌟🌟 (Rich lobster flavor with real meat) Chargrilled Prawns 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Complimentary Sweet Wine 🌟🌟🌟🌟 ❌ Average: Slow-Cooked Beef (Tastes like ordinary braised beef) 🟤 Seaside Grill (Beachside BBQ) Requires shuttle, few customers, limited menu Recommended: Fish Tacos 🌟🌟🌟 Ceviche 🌟🌟🌟 (Feels repetitive after eating it multiple times) Strawberry Daiquiri & Margarita 🌟🌟🌟🌟 ❌ Average: Grilled Chicken Wings & Sausages (Nothing special) 🟤 Veranda (Poolside Ceviche Bar) Next to the main pool, can order to your lounge chair Cocktails are better than the aguachile 🟤 Market Cafe (Buffet Restaurant) Below the lobby, limited selection Edible options: Omelet, cheese with ham Overall underwhelming, not as good as Secrets Del Carmen’s version 🟤 Coco Cafe (Coffee Shop) Left side of the lobby, hard to find Not recommended: Coffee is mediocre (specialty drinks with alcohol/ice cream are bad) Cakes are too sweet, no ice cream available 📌 Final Thoughts Overall food quality falls short compared to Secrets Del Carmen—fewer options, some dishes are misses. Some facilities still under development, hopefully improvements will come. Highlights: Beef Gunkan at Jasmine, Lobster Bisque at Bluewater, cocktails at Seaside Grill. Suitable for those who want an all-inclusive stay in downtown Tulum, but manage expectations if you’re a foodie. #MexicoTravel #TulumResorts #AllInclusiveReview #RestaurantReview #TravelGuide #CancunResorts
