Michelin-Recommended Korean Restaurant in LA's Ktown โ Soban
The famous Soban โ hailed as one of LA's top Korean spots, but honestly, I felt it was just okay. Might appeal more to a non-Korean palate. ๐ฅ Limited menu options Their signature dishes are soy-marinated crab, braised fish, and braised beef short ribs. ๐ฆ Iโd recommend trying their tofu seafood pancake Probably the best seafood pancake Iโve had in Ktown (second is Sulgaโs). Crispy outside, tender and juicy inside, made with tofu so itโs lower in carbs. ๐ฎ Braised beef short ribs with shiitake mushrooms Tasted like a homestyle stew โ nothing particularly standout. Not a must-order for me. ๐ Fish roe soup was a letdown The ingredients and broth felt disconnected in flavor. The fish roe lacked that fresh sweetness and had an oddly dry, egg-yolk-like texture that was hard to swallow. ๐ด Banchan (side dishes) were plentiful and decent. Maybe Iโll come back another time just to try their soy-marinated crab ๐ฆ. ๐ Soban ๐ 4001 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90019 #FoodDiary #RestaurantReview #LAEats #KoreanFood #KtownLA #MichelinEats #SobanLA
