Michelin-Recommended Korean Restaurant in LA's Ktown โ€“ Soban

The famous Soban โ€” hailed as one of LA's top Korean spots, but honestly, I felt it was just okay. Might appeal more to a non-Korean palate. ๐Ÿฅ˜ Limited menu options Their signature dishes are soy-marinated crab, braised fish, and braised beef short ribs. ๐Ÿฆž Iโ€™d recommend trying their tofu seafood pancake Probably the best seafood pancake Iโ€™ve had in Ktown (second is Sulgaโ€™s). Crispy outside, tender and juicy inside, made with tofu so itโ€™s lower in carbs. ๐Ÿฎ Braised beef short ribs with shiitake mushrooms Tasted like a homestyle stew โ€” nothing particularly standout. Not a must-order for me. ๐Ÿ™… Fish roe soup was a letdown The ingredients and broth felt disconnected in flavor. The fish roe lacked that fresh sweetness and had an oddly dry, egg-yolk-like texture that was hard to swallow. ๐Ÿด Banchan (side dishes) were plentiful and decent. Maybe Iโ€™ll come back another time just to try their soy-marinated crab ๐Ÿฆ€. ๐Ÿ“Œ Soban ๐Ÿ“ 4001 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90019 #FoodDiary #RestaurantReview #LAEats #KoreanFood #KtownLA #MichelinEats #SobanLA
