Michigan|Dear All Chinese Restaurants
Yudingxian is, in my books, THE best Sichuan restaurant in all of Michigan 🌶️👑 (if you think there’s a better one, FIGHT ME in the comments — I’ll sprint there immediately 🏃💨). 🐰 Zigong Fresh Pepper Rabbit I fell in love with rabbit meat while traveling in Chengdu — and finally found it here! The broth is seriously spicy (but in a flavorful, bearable way), and the portion is generous with plenty of meat and veggies. Perfect with rice! 🍚 Rabbit is so cute… and even cuter in my mouth 😋 🐿️ Sweet and Squirrel Fish (Squirrel-Shaped Mandarin Fish) My first time having this dish in the US! I used to eat it all the time growing up in China, so this hit right in the nostalgia. Their version is legit — crispy outside, tender fish inside, with a rich sweet and sour sauce. It can get a tad heavy, but I still devoured over half of it 😅 🦐 Kung Pao Prawns Ordered this to test their Kung Pao game. Not as spicy as expected, but tasty nonetheless. Not a must-order though — the plating felt a bit “American-Chinese.” Maybe the Kung Pao Chicken is better? 🤔 Other dishes I’ve tried here are all 5-star recommends: 🐂 Golden Soup Beef 🌶️ Stir-Fried Pig Trotters 🍡 Brown Sugar Glutinous Rice Cakes 🧊 Ice Jelly (Bingfen) If I didn’t live so far from Lansing, I’d be here every week 😭 #100RestaurantsChallenge #Michigan #UmichAnnArbor #MichiganEats #MSU #SichuanFood
