Michigan | Found What Might Be the Coolest Restaurant Ever!
Michigan | Found What Might Be the Coolest Restaurant Ever! đ Here in Michigan⌠I totally felt like I was pretending to be in Hawaii! (Ęá´Ęâż) This spot isnât just a bar and restaurantâitâs more like a Hawaiian/Pacific Island art museum that serves amazing food and drinks! As soon as I walked in, I was blown away by how immersive the vibe was. Every corner is filled with art: there are hand-carved wooden sculptures of Hawaiian gods, vibrant paintings of tropical beaches and palm trees, and even a whole wall covered in rare Hawaiian art collectionsâmixing traditional wood carvings with vintage tiki mugs. The lighting is dim (in the best way possible), with warm lanterns and string lights casting a cozy glow over everything, making you forget for a second that youâre in Michigan and not a tiny beachside spot in Oahu. Itâs like stepping into a tropical escapeâatmosphere level: 100/10! đ´â¨ We started with drinks, and let me tell you, the cocktails here are works of art themselves! Each one comes in a unique, tiki-style cupâsome shaped like pineapples, others like tropical birds, and one even had a little paper umbrella sticking out. We ordered three: Blue Hawaii: Bright blue, fruity, and super refreshingâtastes exactly like a day at the beach in a glass! đš Passion Fruit Cocktail: Tangy, sweet, and packed with fresh passion fruit flavorâlight enough to sip all night. Tiki Bowl: The star of the show! Itâs a huge bowl meant for two people, and they even light a little flame on top when they bring it out (so cool!). Itâs a mix of rum, tropical juices, and a hint of coconutârich, flavorful, and perfect for sharing with friends. đĽ Then came the food, and it did NOT disappoint! I went with the classic Hawaiian dish Loco Mocoâa hearty plate of rice topped with a juicy hamburger patty, a runny fried egg, and smothered in rich brown gravy. The colors were vibrant (the yellow egg yolk, the brown gravy, the white rice), and every bite was savory and satisfyingâexactly what I imagined authentic Hawaiian comfort food would taste like. But the real standout was the Pupu Platterâa must-order if youâre with a group! Itâs a huge spread with crispy chicken wings, tender teriyaki chicken skewers, cheesy crab rangoon, fall-off-the-bone pork ribs, crispy spring rolls, and tangy pickles. Every single item was delicious: the wings were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, the teriyaki skewers had the perfect sweet-savory glaze, and the crab rangoon was stuffed with melty cheese. We ended up cleaning the whole platterâno leftovers here! đ After eating, I spent forever wandering around to admire all the (handicrafts) everywhere. There were handwoven Hawaiian quilts draped over chairs, tiny shell necklaces displayed in cases, and even hand-painted tiki mugs you could buy as souvenirs. And we got luckyâthey had an art sale on the second floor! There were original paintings of Hawaiian landscapes, hand-carved wooden bowls, and handmade jewelryâall so beautiful that I almost bought a little painting to take home. Itâs rare to find a restaurant that matches great food with such unique, thoughtful artâand this place nails it. The only tiny downside? The lighting is pretty dim (which adds to the tropical vibe, but can make it hard to take photos of your food!). But honestly, thatâs a small price to pay for such an awesome experience.
