Middle East Adventure - Iraq: The Breathtaking Hamilton Road Canyon 🌄
🚗 Hamilton Road: An Engineering Marvel Built between 1928-1932 by British engineer Hamilton with local workers, this spectacular route starts by cutting through the dramatic Gali Ali Beg Canyon. The road hugs the cliff edges, offering non-stop breathtaking views along its winding path. 🏘️ Rawanduz: A Picturesque Cliffside Town At the road's end sits Rawanduz, perched 500m high atop the canyon. A river snakes through the valley below, framed by towering rock walls - nature's masterpiece at its finest! ✨ 🌅 Final Reflections on Iraq After 14 days traveling from Basra in the south to the Kurdish north, I've seen a country still recovering yet full of resilience. 💡 Key Observations: Iraq is poorer than its Gulf neighbors, but rebuilding everywhere Military checkpoints are everywhere (especially entering Kurdistan) As a Chinese traveler, I felt welcomed and safe throughout my journey 👍 #FollowOldTempleToSeeTheWorld #Travel #Asia #Iraq #Erbil #HamiltonCanyonRoad
