Mikado Sushi – New AYCE Spot in Buford 🍣
Just heard about this newly opened sushi buffet and decided to check it out with my friends! 🧐🏮 From the outside, the restaurant looked pretty inviting. But once we stepped in, we noticed the space was a bit compact—not the spacious layout we expected. The price of the buffet was a little surprising too—about 2-3 more expensive than we thought. We expected around 30, but it ended up being over $30 per person. 😅💸 We started with the Kani Salad, Tuna Tango, Pepper Tuna Tataki, and the limited one-per-person Yellowtail Jalapeno. The crab meat salad was refreshing and appetizing! The tuna dishes had a nice sweet and sour flavor, and the yellowtail with jalapeño was a tasty surprise. 🌶️🍋 Then we headed to the hot food section—we tried takoyaki, Japanese-style chicken nuggets, grilled beef short ribs, and snow crab corners. There was also a sashimi section with salmon, tuna, and snapper. But honestly… both sections were pretty small. For the price (over $40 after tax and tip), the variety felt limited. 🍢🐟 We also ordered the Steak Teriyaki and Scallop Hibachi—the portions were seriously tiny, like "mosquito legs" small. 😬 Finally, we tried the Spider Roll from the Chef’s Special (mainly for the soft-shell crab), but it had a fishy taste that made it hard to finish even one piece. 🦀😖 One last note—the location is already a bit out of the way, and there’s no Wi-Fi. Even our mobile signals were super weak inside, but as soon as we stepped out—full bars! 📵🙃 Overall, it was a bit of a letdown. You win some, you lose some—this one felt like a "minefield" experience. 💣 Have you been to a new restaurant that didn’t quite meet expectations?
