Minneapolis | Winnipeg to Minneapolis Road Trip
Day 1⃣🥇: Depart from Winnipeg → Fargo → Check into Hotel 🏨 Left Winnipeg at 8:40 AM, and arrived at the US border after about an hour of driving. Had updated EVUS in advance (also printed hotel reservations and itinerary, though not required). The border officer asked a few questions about our plans, stamped our passports, collected the fee, and we continued our journey. Stopped for a short break in Fargo and tried the famous Chick-fil-A. Checked into the Graduate Hotel near the University of Minnesota in the evening. The hotel is conveniently located with a Chick-fil-A downstairs, along with convenience stores, Starbucks, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese restaurants nearby. The area is very safe. 💡Tip: The hotel does not provide toothbrushes or slippers, so remember to bring your own. Day 2⃣🥈: MIA Museum → Minnehaha Falls → Mall of America 🎨 MIA (Minneapolis Institute of Art): Free admission (closed on Mondays). Highly recommended! The museum has an extensive collection, including many Chinese artifacts. Plan for at least 4 hours or more to explore. 🏞 In the afternoon, drove to Minnehaha Falls. Easy to access with convenient parking and dining options. While at MIA, received a mobile alert about a missing girl at the falls. Noticed posters everywhere upon arrival—hoping for her safe return. 🌆 Mall of America is enormous, offering shopping 🛍, dining, and entertainment. The Nicklodeon Universe amusement park has rides for both kids and adults, and there’s an aquarium underground. Day 3⃣🥉: Weisman Art Museum → Walker Art Center → Sculpture Garden → Tea House 🎨 Staying at the University of Minnesota made it easy to walk to the Weisman Art Museum (free admission, open Wednesday–Sunday). After the museum, crossed the bridge to explore the Twin Cities campus. 🎨 Walker Art Center: A leading contemporary art center in the US and one of the country’s top five modern art museums (admission fee required, open Wednesday–Sunday). The upper floors offer great views of the sculpture garden and the city. 🏙 The Sculpture Garden is right next to Walker Art Center. Parked in the garden’s parking lot. 🍱 Dinner at Tea House, a popular Chinese restaurant near the University of Minnesota. The menu is diverse and delicious. Took an evening stroll around the campus after dinner. Day 4⃣: Return to Winnipeg #NorthAmericanLife #Winnipeg #WinnipegLife #WinnipegStudyAbroad #Travel #TwinCitiesMN
