Minnehaha - Where the Laughing Waters Fall (1)π
Minnehaha Park, located in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, is named after a waterfall within the park. ππΈ The name seemed a bit odd at first, but after some research, I found out it comes from a line of poetry. The poet described the cascading stream here as "laughing waters," and that's how this joyful name came to be. ππΈThe most famous feature of the park is the waterfall. A stream here drops about 16 meters, and it's not very wide. It's not much different from other waterfalls you might see. But the best time to see it is in winter. When temperatures in Minnesota drop to around - 20Β°C, the usually flowing water freezes into a static ice waterfall. ππΈIt's one of the most beautiful ice waterfalls in the world. Unfortunately, I visited in the fall and missed its most stunning season. π #USA π
