Minnehaha - Where the Laughing Waters Fall (2)π
Walking along the babbling brook, I moved forward. Various plants had already begun to don their autumn attire. ππΈ The leaves changed from green to red and yellow. The untouched, natural forest looked like an overturned palette, becoming a riot of colors. At the end of the stream lies the Mississippi River, the largest river in the United States. The view suddenly opens up. The broad river makes a bend here. An upstream dam slows the rushing water, making it flow gently and quietly towards the distance. ππΈ Walking up the riverside slope, a large expanse of iconic American red buildings comes into view. Surrounding the buildings are large areas of manicured lawns. A few ancient cannons are placed around the grass. A flock of wild gray geese are foraging in between. By taking a shuttle bus painted with the American flag, I learned that this is a "Soldiers' Home." ππΈ The fact that such a large - scale institution is built in the most scenic part of the Twin Cities in Minnesota shows the country's high regard for its military personnel. #Travel π
