A Chinese restaurant in North Loop 🏙️, the only one among a bunch of Western-style eateries. There are quite a few good food spots in North Loop, and this Chinese restaurant seems to be aiming for a slightly upscale take on authentic Chinese cuisine 🍲. The taste is decent—not too Americanized—and it didn’t disappoint as an experimental choice, though it wasn’t particularly outstanding either. Crazy Beef in Szechuan Chili Broth 🌶️ Rating: 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The name sounds intimidating 😱, but it’s actually not very spicy. Among the many underwhelming versions of this dish in Minnesota, this one stands out as decent—at least they used the right ingredients and didn’t cut corners like some other places 👍. Highly recommended if you’re ordering! Spicy Szechuan Beef Noodle Soup 🍜 Rating: 3.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐✨ The broth is flavorful and authentic, but the noodles are a letdown 😕—they’re too soft and lack any chewiness. The noodles seem to be handmade, and while the chef tried their best, the skill just isn’t there 🧑🍳. It might have been better off using store-bought noodles for a better texture. Dan Dan Noodles 🍝 Rating: 1/5 ⭐ The same noodle issue becomes even more apparent in this dish 😬. Since it’s a dry noodle dish, the overly soft noodles absorb too much oil, making it greasy and heavy after just a few bites 🥵. Not recommended 👎. If you’ve already tried all the other good food options in North Loop, or if you’re staying downtown and really craving Chinese food 🥢, this restaurant might be worth considering. #MinnesotaFoodExploration #UniversityOfMinnesota #Minnesota #UMN
